THE DESTRUCTION OF THE DEVIL

I. The Beginning of the Devil.

A. In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth (Genesis 1:1). With all the creatures of God were the angels (Colossians 1:16). They were also called “sons of God” (Genesis 6:2; Job 1:6; 2:1; 38:7). They were called “angels” which means “messengers”. They were God’s servants to bring message to the people from heaven.

B. Together with the angels that God created was the angel called “Lucifer” (Isaiah 14:12). He was the cherub that covereth, the fairest of all, the most brilliant, perfect and skilled in music. (Ezekiel 28:13-16). He was entrusted by God to rule.

C. But later on, iniquity was found in him. He became proud because of his beauty. He did have a dream to replace God. (Isaiah 14:12-14; Ezekiel 28:17,18) so that he would be the most high of all.

D. God expelled him and all the angels that joined his cause, and cast them out of heaven, from the throne of God (Isaiah 14:12)

E. But even though they were expelled by God, their extraordinary strengths were not gone.

F. From that time on, the angel Lucifer became “the devil” which means accuser and “Satan” which means enemy.

G. Lucifer (who later became Satan) went to the Garden of Eden as “the serpent” (Genesis 3:1), and began working and running the lives of men. He began to destroy the lives of men by influencing men to be like him - with the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eye and the pride of life (1 John 2:15).

H. Satan overcame. The first men listened and obeyed him. And like him, they too were expelled from the presence of God.

II. Adam and the Fall of Man.

A. God made the first man Adam to be the ruler or prince of the earth (Genesis 1:26-28).

B. He gave Adam the ability to choose.

C. Adam chose to disobey God by eating the forbidden fruit of the knowledge of good and evil (Genesis 3:17)

D. He died spiritually – he was separated from the life of God (Genesis 2:17). The process of death began in man – from spiritual unto physical death (Romans 5:14,17-18).

E. Man gave his dominion to Satan. Because of this:

1. Satan became the “ruler” or “prince” of this world (John 12:31; 14:30; 16:11)

2. Satan became “the god of this world (age)” (2 Corinthians 4:4)

3. Satan became “the prince of the power of the air” (Ephesians 2:2)

4. The earth and all that are therein became the possession of satan (1 John 5:19).

5. Because he became the legal owner of this world, he went to and fro in the earth (Job 1:7) and had the power to steal, kill and destroy. (John 10:10).

6. Satan became the legal owner because it was given him by Adam since Adam disobeyed God. (Luke 4:5,6)

F. God could not destroy Adam at make again a new man from the earth..

G. God could not use the dust of the earth to make a new man – because legally the earth was not his or Adam’s property.

III. God made a plan that will restore man unto God.

A. God must bring to earth the Last Adam (Jesus Christ), in a legal way. One man caused mankind’s fall. It was Adam. On the contrary, one man also would redeem mankind: Jesus Christ (Romans 5:17-18).

B. The Last Adam could only come to earth by Blood Covenant… and it was God’s Covenant with Abraham (Abrahamic Covenant).

C. God must enter into covenant with a man who would be the ancestor of the Last Adam…from the seed of Abraham…that would be born of the virgin…from the blood of God himself.

D. The Last Adam (1 Corinthians 15:45), Jesus Christ was the predestined one to judge, cast out, and destroy “Satan” the “prince” and “god” of this world [that was the previous age]. (Hebrews 2:14; 1 John 3:8; Revelation 12:9,10; Matthew 28:18).

IV. Because of the New Testament in the Blood of Jesus, the Lord defeated, overcame, and spoiled the devil and his kingdom. (Colossians 2:13)

A. Through his shed blood and death on the cross, the Lord Jesus Christ bound the devil – the strong man (Matthew 12:29). According to Revelation 20:1-3

“1 And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.

2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,

3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.”

1. Who laid hold on the dragon? An angel that came down from heaven (Revelation 20:1). Angel means “messenger”. In Greek is aggelos. The messenger of God is his Son (Galatians 4:4) who came from heaven (John 3:13), even the Lord Jesus. Hehath the key…that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth. (Revelation 3:7). He was holding a great chain in his hand to bind the devil.

2. Who was the one laid hold and bound? The dragon a.k.a. the Old Serpent (Genesis 3:1) who was the devil and Satan.

3. What does the word “bound” mean? The binding is not a literal binding with a literal chain. This is a figurative language which means to “forbid” or “restrain”. The devil was restrained, forbidden and no more allowed to “deceive the nations” (Gentiles).

4. How long would be the binding of the devil? One thousand years. Like the chain, the one thousand years (millennium) was not a literal thousand years. Let us remember: that the Book of Revelation was a book of numbers which have meanings.

a. The number 1000 is 10 x 100. The number 10 represents the Gentiles, the Word of God, kingship, the law and responsibility. It is also the number of ordinal perfection.

b. The number 1000 is 10 multiplied by 100 times. The number 1000 represents a long period of time of the reign of God’s Word over the nations. Therefore, the one thousand years of binding the devil is not a literal millennium but a long period of time when the gospel would be published to the nations (Matthew 24:14).

c. That period was from the Acts period, after Jesus died, was buried, rose again and ascended to heaven. That was until the destruction of the city and temple of Jerusalem in 70 A.D. A period of 40 years.

5. “7 And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,8 And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea (Revelation 20:7-8). After that the devil 10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.(Revelation 20:10).

a. After the wide propagation of the gospel to the nations from the Acts period up to “the end of the world” (Matthew 24:3,14), the devil was loosed and then deceived the nations with his cohorts (Revelation 16:13-14).

b. The world mentioned was “aiwnos” (aionos) in Greek which means “age”. The end of the world that was mentioned was the end of the world (or age) of Israel and the temple. The end of the Jewish age or Jewish world, and not the end of the planet earth. (Read Ecclesiastes 1:4 at Ephesians 3:21).

c. The “Jewish age” was “THIS WORLD” (Matthew 12:32; Ephesians 1:21) and after that comes “THE WORLD TO COME”. These two worlds are “two ages”. The gospel was preached to all the world, to every creature (Colossians 1:6,23) to the nations – it doesn’t talk about the globe but about their world, which was the entire “Roman Empire”.

d. After that, for a short time of the devil, he would gather the nations to compass the holy city – Jerusalem (Daniel 9:26; Luke 21:24). Jerusalem then was destroyed by Rome according to the prophecy of both Daniel and the Lord Jesus. That was the end of Jerusalem and the “Jewish age” and that was also the end of the reign of the devil (Revelation 20:10).

e. The devil and his cohorts were TOTALLY ANNIHILATED by the Lord Jesus and therefore have no more power. That happened because of the Blood Covenant.

B. Jesus destroyed the devil who had the power over death before (Hebrews 2:14). Read Genesis 3:15. This prophecy was fulfilled in the Lord Jesus.

C. Now, the Lord Jesus has taken back, this power and Jesus is now the one who holds this key or authority over death and hell (Revelation 1:18). He has now all authority in heaven and on earth (Matthew 28:18). (It is not true that the devil is the king sitting on the throne of hell, which was described as a powerful creature, with a goat-like face and holds a fork-like scepter, among many demons tormenting souls in hell. What is true is what Mathhew 25:41 and Revelation 20:10 teaches. Please read.

D. That is why, today Satan is not the “prince| and “god” of this world (age); and he is no more the legal owner of the earth and everything therein. But it is now the Lord Jesus Christ – the GOD – MAN who is the GOD and PRINCE of the whole world… the LAST ADAM.

E. The devil is now destroyed and is no more reigning. Instead, the Lord Jesus Christ is reigning (Revelation 11:15, 17-19), and his kingdom is not only temporary or only 1000 years but FOR EVER AND EVER. Amen.

ANG GANAP NA PAGKAWASAK NG DIYABLO

I. Ang Simula ng Diyablo.
A. Sa simula ay nilikha ng Diyos ang langit at ang lupa (Genesis 1:1). Kasama sa mga nilikha ng Diyos ay ang mga anghel (Colosas 1:16). Tinatawag din silang “mga anak ng Diyos” (Genesis 6:2; Job 1:6; 2:1; 38:7). Sila ay tinatawag na mga “anghel” na ang kahulugan ay “mensahero”. Sila ang inuutusan ng Diyos na magdala ng mensahe sa mga tao mula sa langit.
B. Kasama sa mga anghel na nilikha ng Diyos ay ang anghel na si “Lucifer” (Isaias 14:12). Siya ay isang kerubin na nagtatakip sa trono ng Diyos, napakaganda, nakapakamatalino, perpekto at mahusay sa musika (Ezekiel 28:13-16). Siya ay pinagkatiwalaan ng Diyos ng kapamahalaan.
C. Ngunit lumaon, ay nasumpungan ang kasamaan sa kanyang puso. Nagkaroon siya ng kayabangan dahil sa kanyang kagandahan. Nagkaroon siya ng pangarap na palitan ang Diyos. (Isaias 14:12-14; Ezekiel 28:17,18) upang siya na ang maging pinakamataas sa lahat.
D. Pinalayas siya ng Diyos at ang lahat ng mga anghel na pumanig sa kanya, at itinaboy mula sa langit, sa trono ng Diyos. (Isaias 14:12)
E. Ngunit kahit pinalayas sila ng Diyos, hindi nawala ang taglay nilang kakaibang kapangyarihan at lakas.
F. Mula noon, ang anghel na si Lucifer ay naging “diyablo” na ang kahulugan ay “accuser” at “Satanas”, na ang kahulugan ay “kaaway”.
G. Pumunta si Lucifer na naging Satanas na sa halamanan ng Eden bilang “ahas” (Genesis 3:1), at sinimulan ang pakikialam at pagpapatakbo sa buhay ng mga tao. Sinimulan niyang wasakin ang buhay ng tao sa pamamagitan ng pag-uudyok niya sa tao na maging katulad niya – na may masamang pita ng laman, masamang pita ng mga mata at kapalaluan sa buhay (1 Juan 2:15).
H. Nagtagumpay si Satanas. Nakinig at sumunod ang mga unang tao sa kanya. At katulad niya, ang mga tao rin ay pinalayas sa presensya ng Diyos.



II. Si Adam at ang Pagbagsak ng Sangkatauhan.

A. Ginawa ng Diyos ang unang taong, si Adam bilang pinuno o prinsipe ng lupa (Genesis 1:26-28).
B. Binigyan ng Diyos si Adam ng kakayahang pumili.
C. Pinili ni Adam na sumuway sa Diyos sa pamamagitan ng pagkain sa ipinagbabawal na punungkahoy ng kaalaman ng masama at mabuti. (Genesis 3:17)
D. Namatay siya sa espirituwal – nahiwalay siya sa buhay ng Diyos. (Genesis 2:17). Nagsimula ang proseso ng kamatayan sa tao – sa espirituwal hanggang sa pisikal na kamatayan (Roma 5:14,17-18).
E. Binigay niya ang kanyang kapangyarihang mamahala (dominion) kay Satanas. Dahil dito:
1. Si Satanas na ang naging “pinuno” o “prinsipe” ng sanlibutang ito. (Juan 12:31; 14:30; 16:11)
2. Si Satanas ang naging “diyos ng sanlibutang (kapanahunang) ito” (2 Cor 4:4)
3. Si Satanas ang naging “prinsipe ng kapangyarihan ng hangin” (Efeso 2:2)
4. Ang lupa at lahat ng naroroon ay naging pag-aari ni Satanas (1 Juan 5:19).
5. Dahil siya ang naging legal na may-ari ng sanlibutan, siya ay nagparoo’t parito sa lupa (Job 1:7) at may kapangyarihang magnakaw, pumatay at lumipol (Juan 10:10).
6. Si Satanas ang naging legal na may-ari dahil ibinigay sa kanya ni Adam, mula nang sinuway ni Adam ang Diyos. (Lucas 4:5,6)
F. Hindi maaaring wasakin ng Diyos si Adam at gumawa uli ng bagong tao mula sa lupa.
G. Hindi maaaring gamitin ng Diyos ang alabok ng lupa, upang gumawa ng bagong tao – dahil ayon sa legalidad, ito ay hindi sa kanya o kay Adam.

III. Gumawa ang Diyos ng plano na magbabalik sa tao sa Diyos.
A. Kailangang madala ng Diyos ang Huling Adam (Si Jesu-Cristo) sa lupa, sa isang paraang legal. Isang tao ang naging dahilan ng pagbagsak ng sangkatauhan (si Adam) … isang tao rin naman ang tutubos sa sangkatauhan: si Jesu-Cristo (Roma 5:17-18).
B. Ang Huling Adam ay maaari lamang dumating sa lupa sa pamamagitan ng Kasunduan sa Dugo…at ito ay ang Kasunduan ng Diyos kay Abraham (Kasunduang Abrahamiko).
C. Kailangang makipag-kasunduan ang Diyos sa isang taong pagmumulan ng Huling Adam…mula sa binhi ni Abraham…na ipapanganak sa pamamagitan ng birhen…mula sa dugo ng Diyos mismo.
D. Ang Huling Adam (1 Corinto 15:45), si Jesu-Cristo, ang nakatakdang humatol, magpalayas, at magwasak kay “Satanas na “prinsipe…at diyos ng sanlibutang ito [nakaraang kapanahunan]”. (Hebreo 2:14; 1 Juan 3:8; Pahayag 12:9,10; Mateo 28:18).

IV. Dahil sa Bagong Tipan sa Dugo ni Jesus, tinalo, ginapi at sinamsaman ng Panginoon ang diyablo at ang kanyang kaharian (Colosas 2:13)
A. Sa pamamagitan ng kanyang dugo at pagkamatay sa krus, ginapos ng Panginoong Jesus ang diyablo – ang malakas na tao (Mateo 12:29). Ayon sa Pahayag 20:2,3 “ sinunggaban niya ang dragon, ang matandang ulupong na iyon, na siyang Diyablo, at si Satanas, at iginapos siya ng isang libong taon, at inihagis siya sa hukay na walang-kalaliman, at sinarhan siya, at naglagay ng isang tatak sa kaniya, upang hindi na niya malinlang pa ang mga bansa”.
1. Sino ang sumunggab sa diyablo? Ang isang anghel na bumaba mula sa langit (Pahayag 20:1). Ang kahulugan ng anghel ay “sugo”. Ang sugo ng Diyos ay ang kanyang Anak (Galacia 4:4) na nanggaling sa langit (Juan 3:13), samakatuwid ay ang Panginoong Jesus. Hawak niya ang susi. Ang susi ay “kapamahalaang magbukas at magpinid” (Pahayag 3:7). Hawak niya ang isang malaking tanikala na ipanggagapos niya sa diyablo.
2. Sino ang sinunggaban at iginapos? Ang dragon, a.k.a. ang Matandang Ulupong (Genesis 3:1), na siyang Diyablo at Satanas.
3. Anong ibig sabihin ng “iginapos”? Ang paggapos ay hindi literal na may tanikala at ginapos ang diyablo. Ito ay isang piguratibong pananalita na ang kahulugan ay “pigilan” o”pagbawalan”. Ang diyablo ay pinigilan, pinagbawalan at hindi na pinahintulutang “linlangin ang mga bansa (mga Gentil)”.
4. Gaano katagal ang pagkagapos ng diyablo? Isang libong taon. Gaya ng tanikala, ang isang libong taon (milenyo) ay hindi literal na isang libong taon. Tandaan natin, na ang aklat ng Pahayag ay aklat ng mga bilang na pawang may mga kahulugan.
a. Ang bilang na 1000 ay 10 x 100. Ang bilang na 10 ay kumakatawan sa mga Gentil, Salita ng Diyos, Pagiging hari, Batas at Responsibilidad at bilang din ng Kasakdalang Pangkaayusan.
b. Ang 1000 ay 10 na pinadami pa ng 100 beses. Ang bilang na 1000 ay kumakatawan sa isang mahabang panahon ng paghahari ng Salita ng Diyos sa mga bansa. Samakatuwid, ang isang libong taon na pagkagapos ng diyablo ay hindi literal na isang libong taon kundi isang mahabang panahon na lalaganap ang ebanghelyo sa mga bansa. (Mateo 24:14).
c. Ang panahong iyan ay ang mula sa panahon ng “Mga Gawa ng mga Apostol” pagkatapos na si Jesus ay mamatay, malibing, muling nabuhay at umakyat sa langit… hanggang sa pagkawasak ng lungsod at templo ng Jerusalem noong A.D. 70. Mga 40 taon. (Pakitingnan ang chart ng “Timeline of the end”).
5. “At kapag ang isang libong taon ay lumipas na, ay makakalagan si Satanas mula sa kanyang bilangguan. At lalabas upang maglinlang ng mga bansa na nasa apat na sulok ng lupa, sa Gog at Magog, upang sama-sama silang tipunin sa digmaan: na ang bilang nila ay gaya ng buhangin sa dagat.” (Pahayag 20:7-8). At pagkatapos “ang diyablo na naglinlang sa kanila ay inihagis sa lawa ng apoy at asupre, kung saan naroroon ang halimaw at ang bulaang propeta, at pahihirapan sa araw at gabi magpakailan at kailan man.” (Pahayag 20:10).
a. Pagkatapos ng malaganap na pangangaral ng ebanghelyo sa mga bansa mula sa panahon ng mga Gawa hanggang sa “katapusan ng sanlibutan” (Mateo 24:3,14), ang diyablo ay kakalagan at lilinlangin niya ang mga bansa kasama ng kanyang mga kampon (Pahayag 16:13-14).
b. Ang sanlibutan na tinutukoy ay “” (aionos) sa Griego na ang kahulugan ay “kapanahunan” o “age”. Ang katapusan na tinutukoy diyan ay may kaugnayan sa templo. Kaya’t ang katapusan ng sanlibutan na tinutukoy diyan ay ang katapusan ng sanlibutan (o kapanahunan ng Israel at ng templo) - Jewish age or Jewish world, at hindi ang katapusan ng planetang Lupa. (Basahin ang Ecclesiastes 1:4 at Efeso 3:21).
c. Ang “Jewish age” ang tinatawag na “SANLIBUTANG ITO” (Mateo 12:32; Efeso 1:21) at ang pagkatapos nito ay ang “SANLIBUTANG DARATING”. Ang dalawang sanlibutang iyan ay dalawang “ages”. Ang ebanghelyo ay ipinangaral sa buong sanlibutan (Colosas 1:6,23) sa mga bansa – hindi ito tumutukoy sa buong “globo” kundi sa “sanlibutan” nila, samakatuwid ay ang buong “Imperyo ng Roma”.
d. Pagkatapos niyan, sa maikling panahon ng diyablo, ay titipunin niya ang mga bansa at sasalakayin ang banal na lungsod – ang Jerusalem. (Daniel 9:26; Lucas 21:24). Ang Jerusalem ay winasak ng Roma ayon sa propesiya ni Daniel at ng Panginoong Jesus. Yan ang katapusan ng Jerusalem at ng “Jewish age” at yan din ang katapusan ng paghahari ng diyablo (Pahayag 20:10).
e. Ang diyablo at ang kanyang mga kampon ay LUBUSANG WINASAK na ng Panginoong Jesus at wala nang kapangyarihan. Iyan ay dahil sa Kasunduan sa Dugo.
B. Winasak ni Jesus ang diyablo na dating may kapangyarihan sa kamatayan (Hebreo 2:14). Basahin ang Genesis 3:15. Natupad ang propesiyang ito sa Panginoong Jesus.
C. Ngayon, ay nabawi niya ang kapangyarihang ito, at si Jesus na ang may taglay ng susi o ng kapamahalaan sa impiyerno at sa kamatayan (Pahayag 1:18). Siya ang may taglay ng lahat ng kapamahalaan sa langit at sa lupa (Mateo 28:18). (Hindi totoo na ang diyablo ang haring nakaupo sa trono ng impiyerno, na inilarawan na isang nilalang na makapangyarihan, na may mukhang kambing at may hawak na tungkod na tinidor, sa gitna ng maraming mga demonyo na nagpapahirap sa mga kaluluwang nasa impiyerno. Ang totoo ay ang sinasabi ng Mateo 25:41 at Pahayag 20:10 - pakibasa.
D. Kaya’t ngayon, hindi na si Satanas ang “prinsipe” at ang “diyos” ng sanlibutang ito at hindi na rin siya ang legal na nagmamay-ari sa lupa at ang lahat ng naroroon, kundi ang Panginoong Jesu-Cristo – ang DIYOS – TAO…siya na ang Diyos at Prinsipe ng Sanlibutang ito. Siya ang legal na nagmamay-ari ngayon sa buong sanlibutan…ang Huling Adam.
E. Ang diyablo ay wasak na at hindi na naghahari. Sa halip, ang Panginoong Jesu-Cristo na ang naghahari (Pahayag 11:15, 17-19), at ang paghaharing ito ay hindi pansamantala lamang o sa isang libong taon, kundi MAGPAKAILAN KAILAN MAN. Amen. Pahayag 11:15 “Ang mga kaharian ng sanlibutang ito ay naging mga kaharian ng ating Panginoon, at ng kanyang Cristo; at siya ay maghahari magpakailan kailan man.”
